What is EFT?
Emotional freedom technique is an energy therapy technique which provides freedom from negative emotions.
It was developed by Gary Craig. E.F.T. has created a revolution in the conventional system of healing. Gary has extensively promoted and tested the technique providing relief from Negative emotions.
EFT is based on the ancient principles of acupuncture and accupressure; it is a simple tapping procedure that gently realigns the body’s energy system by using your finger tips, without the discomfort of needles. Unlike other energy healing methods, EFT addresses unresolved emotional issues as a likely cause of physical disease, and personal performance limits.
The real beauty of the technique is that anyone can do it. It is simple to use and easy to learn. You can use it on yourself, with your family and with friends. It is also an invaluable tool for anyone who is interested in self and others healings. |

Can EFT be combined with other techniques?
Yes! EFT is very flexible. Many people blend EFT with other healing techniques and report enhanced results. Hypnotherapists use EFT while their clients are in trance. EMDR specialists inject EFT into the EMDR process. Massage therapists merge it into their work as do Reike practitioners, MD's, acupuncturists, chiropractors and healing practitioners of all descriptions.
Some people use EFT precisely as explained in the EFT Course. Others prefer to personalize it by adjusting the affirmations, tapping different energy points, using different shortcuts, etc. Some simply touch the points (instead of tapping) while others do the tapping through their intention or through their imagination. Interestingly enough, it all seems to work. Many people have taken the EFT idea, changed it a little bit and given it a new name. That's OK by me. I encourage it. I think innovating with these procedures is healthy. No telling where it might lead. Others have started from scratch and built their own energy technique. There have been many notable innovations by numerous dedicated professionals. Many of them are discussed in other sections of this web site.
The bottom line, though, is that all these versions and innovations have one thing in common. That is, they "tune into" the problem while balancing or unblocking the body's energy system. To my knowledge, all versions launch off of this idea. Because of EFT's flexibility, low cost and generic nature it has become the starting place for a growing number of newcomers--a Doorway to the Healing High-Rise, if you will.
Let me hasten to add that EFT isn't just for beginners. It was designed so that beginners could learn it easily but it was also designed with all the elements necessary for true mastery. There have been many spectacular healings using EFT alone. Our tape sets are loaded with evidence of this. EFT, as a stand alone procedure, is like a high quality piano. It can be played by beginners and masters alike. The quality of the music depends only upon one's mastery.
